Dear Huntley High School families,

We would like to provide you with an additional update regarding the safety investigation at Huntley High School. After a thorough investigation of our building this afternoon, it has been determined that no safety threat was present on campus. In partnership with the Huntley Police Department, Huntley High School has been deemed safe for all students and staff to occupy the building for a normal day of school tomorrow, February 22.

Upon arrival to campus, here are a few things you need to know:

  • All students MUST show and wear their current student ID upon entering the building Student IDs. If a student does not have a student ID, we will verify the student in PowerSchool and they will be issued a temporary ID.
  • We will have a controlled entry to school. Students will enter through Door 10 (Parent Drop-Off) and buses will drop off students at Door 1. The student entrance at door 4 and 27 will not be accessible to students.
  • Visitors and parents will have normal access to the building and will follow the same security procedures at Door 1.

Please be assured that our team has and will continue to respond swiftly and appropriately to any and all threats to the safety of our students and campus. We remain committed to working through all of our safety and security practices to ensure your child is safe and cared for in our buildings.

We understand that in today’s climate, it is of the utmost importance for our students, families and staff to feel safe when they come to school each day. If you have any questions or concerns, or if you have any information that you feel an administrator should be aware of, please do not hesitate to utilize Huntley 158’s Student Helpline or contact Huntley High School at 847-659-6600 or [email protected].

Again, thank you for your continued partnership. You play a vital role in keeping our schools and community safe.

Thank you,

Marcus Belin, Ed.D.
